Repair & Maintenance Technician II – Well Services

About the role

Weatherford is looking for a skilled Repair & Maintenance Technician – Well Services to join its Abu Dhabi workshop. You will be responsible for keeping well‑services equipment reliable, ready for operation, and compliant with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain 5S standards in the workshop bay, tool crib and work cells, including daily housekeeping.
• Perform repair, maintenance, inspection and redress of well‑services equipment following OEM manuals, drawings and work instructions.
• Verify that the latest revisions of procedures and technical documents are used before work begins.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, rework, scrap and repair costs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct dimensional, thread and gauging inspections using calibrated measuring equipment.
• Assemble and disassemble components with correct torque procedures and calibrated torque tools.
• Select, install and handle seals, elastomers, lubricants, greases and thread compounds appropriately.
• Execute pressure and functional testing, documenting results and ensuring traceability.
• Complete job cards, inspection reports and maintenance records accurately and on time.
• Adhere to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements and support field operations.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on repair experience.
• 2–3 years of oilfield tool workshop repair & maintenance experience.
• 1–2 years working with thru‑tubing, fishing and milling tools.
• Proven ability to work in a multicultural technical team while maintaining quality standards.

Required skills

• Mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting.
• Dimensional inspection, thread inspection and gauging.
• Use of calibrated measuring equipment and torque tools.
• Seal, elastomer, lubricant and thread‑compound handling.
• Pressure testing and functional testing of equipment.
• Familiarity with OEM manuals, drawings and 5S workplace organization.
