Research Associate – International Policy

About the role

The Fiker Institute is seeking a full‑time Research Associate to support its work on global governance, foreign policy and public policy. The role combines in‑depth policy research, analysis and event coordination within a dynamic think‑tank environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare comprehensive analyses of national, regional and global issues, producing policy briefs and recommendation papers.
• Author research papers, briefing materials and regular publications for the institute’s programmes.
• Plan, organise and execute high‑profile conferences, forums and cultural events, including speaker selection and programme design.
• Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts and pursue sponsorship opportunities.
• Coordinate graphic‑design inputs and oversee proofreading and publishing of both traditional and online media.
• Conduct foresight analysis, trend monitoring and regional dynamics research for client projects.
• Maintain relationships with diplomats, policymakers, academics and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in International Affairs, Political Science, Policy or a related discipline.
• At least 3‑4 years of research, strategy or policy consultancy experience.
• Strong analytical abilities and a deep personal interest in foreign policy and international relations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact diplomatically with high‑level officials and experts.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, reliable and able to work effectively within a collaborative research team.
