Resident Engineer – Technical Support (Dubai)

About the role

As a Resident Engineer based in Dubai, you will ensure cost‑effective maintenance and optimal technical performance of Canon’s hardware portfolio. You will provide remote technical support, firmware upgrades and on‑site assistance using Canon’s remote assistance tools.

Key responsibilities

• Perform first‑line troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis on standalone and connected Canon products.
• Achieve high first‑time fix rates while minimizing recalls and optimizing labor and parts usage.
• Report labor and parts investment using the CAESAR coding structure and manage stock inventory rotation.
• Identify commercial opportunities and communicate insights to Sales and Marketing through “OnSite‑InSight”.
• Collaborate with account managers, provide training to super‑users, and support customer requirements aligned with the Solution Business Strategy.
• Contribute to team development and overall service performance.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or diploma in electronics, mechanics or software.
• Relevant experience in the service industry with a strong technical aptitude.
• Good knowledge of health and safety guidelines and a valid GCC driving licence.
• Excellent customer handling, communication and teamwork skills.
• Commercial insight, business acumen and the ability to work under pressure.
