Restaurants, Bars & Experiences Cook

About the role

Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi is looking for a Cook to join its Restaurants, Bars & Experiences Culinary team. The Cook supports the culinary team in preparing and producing high-quality food while keeping food safety, hygiene and operational standards, and contributes to daily kitchen operations, ingredient preparation and mise-en-place. The role reports to the Restaurants, Bars & Experiences Chef de Partie.

Key responsibilities

• Support the kitchen team in preparing and producing menu items.
• Prepare ingredients, mise-en-place and basic food items according to recipes and Mandarin Oriental standards.
• Assist with à la carte food preparation as required.
• Keep assigned workstations organized, stocked and ready for service.
• Follow approved recipes, quality standards and guest expectations.
• Work closely with the Chef de Partie and culinary colleagues, and follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
• Learn culinary standards, techniques and best practices under the guidance of senior colleagues.
• Follow food labelling, stock rotation and storage procedures, and comply with health and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Culinary qualification, apprenticeship or relevant kitchen training preferred.
• Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Understanding of HACCP, food safety, hygiene and sanitation requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate well with the team.
• Japanese cuisine specialisation is an added advantage.
