Risk Manager

About the role

Wasael Property Management is hiring a Risk Manager in Abu Dhabi. The role develops, implements and manages the organisation's risk management framework so that project and business risks are proactively identified, assessed, monitored and mitigated, supporting sound decisions and successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain risk management frameworks, policies, procedures and methodologies across projects and business operations.
• Lead the identification, assessment, evaluation and monitoring of strategic, operational, financial, commercial and project risks.
• Maintain project and corporate risk registers with risks, mitigation actions, owners and deadlines.
• Facilitate risk workshops and reviews with project teams, senior management, consultants and contractors.
• Monitor key risk indicators and emerging risks, and ensure mitigation and contingency measures are in place.
• Carry out qualitative and quantitative risk assessments covering cost, schedule, scope, quality and delivery.
• Work with Project, Commercial, Finance, Procurement and Technical functions to embed risk management in planning and decision-making.
• Review project plans, schedules, budgets, contracts and change proposals for risk exposure.
• Track mitigation actions, escalate significant or unresolved risks, and prepare regular risk reports, dashboards and presentations for management.
• Support contingency plans and recovery strategies, monitor external factors such as regulation, market, supply chain and economic trends, and ensure compliance with governance and risk standards.
• Support internal and external audits, promote risk awareness through training, and continuously improve risk processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification in Risk Management, Project Management or a related field is an advantage.
• Strong experience in risk management, preferably in real estate development, construction, infrastructure or major project environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing project and enterprise risk registers and facilitating risk assessments and workshops.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams and senior stakeholders.
