Room Service Order Taker – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Room Service Order Taker is responsible for taking guest orders, processing them through the Micros POS system, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of meals and amenities in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take guest orders accurately, honor special requests, and enter them into the Micros POS system.
• Communicate orders to servers, track incoming and outgoing orders on floor sheets, and ensure proper preparation and delivery times.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and uphold telephone etiquette at all times.
• Upsell menu items, process pre‑ordered meals, and handle amenities and guest inquiries.
• Close checks, balance cash drawers, run shift‑end Micros reports, and pay out tips and gratuities.
• Assist with tray and table set‑ups, side work, and support the restaurant controller with check‑out procedures.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and organizational skills; fluent in English.
• Responsible, reliable, and able to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team‑player attitude with the ability to maintain good relationships with colleagues.
• Previous food & beverage experience is an asset but not required; training on Micros POS will be provided.
