Sandfill Operator

About the role

The Sandfill Operator supports dredging, reclamation and civil marine projects, ensuring work is carried out safely, on time and within budget while meeting NMDC’s quality, health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in placing shore anchors from dredger to shore and operate pumping and sandfill activities.
• Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance and supply checks (lights, brakes, gas, oil, water).
• Maintain site cleanliness, follow HSE regulations and enforce safety codes.
• Coordinate closely with the Sandfill Master/Supervisor and follow their directions.
• Report accidents, hazards or defective equipment to supervisors promptly.
• Execute work in compliance with local environmental regulations and permit‑to‑work requirements.

Required profile

• Secondary School Certificate with a technical qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in dredging, marine or similar industrial environments.
• Valid Personal Survival, Fire Fighting & First Aid certificates (Basic Safety Training).
• STCW Risk Assessment / Permit‑to‑Work certification.
