School Counsellor – Immediate Start

About the role

The Mubarak Bin Mohammed Cycle 2 Charter School is seeking a dedicated School Counsellor to join its team immediately. The role involves supporting students with personal, social, academic and mental‑health challenges, while collaborating with parents, teachers and external agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Help students enhance personal, social and academic growth and wellbeing.
• Monitor the progress of individual students and intervene when needed.
• Contact parents to discuss behaviour or support requirements.
• Prevent bullying, support victims and promote a safe school environment.
• Assist students with career‑related skills such as resume writing and interview techniques.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions, refer to external services and provide conflict‑resolution sessions.
• Identify cases of domestic abuse or family problems that affect student development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology with relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Minimum two years experience in school counselling or a related counselling role.
• Appropriate licence to carry out student counselling.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
• High emotional and physical energy to manage a wide range of student issues.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
