Secondary Arabic and Islamic Teacher

About the role

The school is seeking a Secondary Arabic and Islamic Teacher to deliver the Arabic and Islamic studies curriculum to secondary students in Abu Dhabi. The role involves planning engaging lessons, assessing progress, and supporting the holistic wellbeing of pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Plan teaching to achieve clear learning objectives and set challenging tasks for pupils.
• Identify and support SEN/EAL learners, setting clear targets and building on prior progress.
• Provide structured lessons that maintain pace, motivation and challenge.
• Use effective assessment methods and ensure full coverage of the programme of study.
• Maintain high standards for homework and classroom work.
• Employ a variety of teaching methods, effective questioning and appropriate learning resources, including ICT and library materials.
• Encourage pupils to think independently, develop self‑control, concentration and perseverance.
• Contribute to subject policy development and produce related documentation.
• Uphold school rules, discipline, dress code and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
• Support the School Improvement Plan by enhancing curriculum delivery and student achievement.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Education (PG diploma/QTS preferred).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching in a school setting.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Collaborative team‑player with a professional attitude and safeguarding awareness.

Required skills

• Proficient use of ICT for lesson delivery and resource creation.
• Data management skills for tracking student records.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Experience handling laboratory equipment safely (where applicable).
