Security Controller (Airport)

About the role

The Security Controller oversees the Airport Security Unit at Emirates, ensuring compliance with immigration and aviation regulations. The role focuses on preventing penalties related to illegal or improperly documented passengers while safeguarding passengers, crew, and aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and control daily operations of the Airport Security Unit, ensuring team training, adherence to procedures, and continuous performance feedback.
• Analyse passenger profiles, handle disruptive or deportee passengers, and make recommendations to mitigate security risks.
• Coordinate and escalate critical security threats, working closely with line managers and relevant authorities.
• Monitor performance metrics, compile statistics, and implement corrective actions to meet established standards.
• Liaise with airport authorities, other airlines, embassies, consulates, and immigration officials to facilitate swift resolution of passenger issues.
• Identify service shortfalls, propose procedural or policy changes, and drive continuous improvement within the unit.
• Maintain diplomatic relationships with missions and security agencies to stay updated on global trends in illegal immigration.
• Develop business relationships with airlines to promote document‑check services and support commercial proposals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in airport security or related aviation operations.
• Strong understanding of immigration regulations and passenger documentation requirements.
• Ability to make decisive decisions under pressure and handle sensitive situations.
• Excellent communication and diplomatic skills for interaction with authorities and airline partners.
• Analytical mindset for performance monitoring and trend analysis.
