Senior Accountant / Accountant

About the role

Uni-Fuels, a global provider of marine fuel to shipping companies founded in 2021 and now with offices in 6 locations, is looking for a Senior Accountant / Accountant. The role covers full accounting and finance functions, including accounts payable and receivable, financial statements, VAT and corporate tax, payroll processing, cash flow management and reporting to headquarters in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full set of accounts (accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger) and prepare and reconcile balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Support management decisions through variance analysis, forecasting and budgeting, and assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end closing.
• Prepare corporate tax returns and VAT returns in line with UAE tax laws, and assist internal and external audits.
• Track and manage project-related costs, budgets and forecasts.
• Handle invoicing and billing, monitor accounts receivable, and resolve invoice discrepancies with clients and vendors.
• Process monthly payroll, including deductions and benefits, and coordinate with HR; maintain payroll records and reports.
• Process payments to vendors, suppliers and contractors, reconcile payments, and monitor cash flow and daily liquidity.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and track outstanding incoming and outgoing payments.
• Provide administrative support, prepare reports and presentations, and maintain company records.
• Report financial data and key metrics regularly to headquarters in Singapore, and assist with procurement and vendor management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent is a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting and administration, ideally in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws, corporate tax regulations and accounting standards.
• Excellent English communication skills (Arabic is a plus).
• Detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software such as Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar.
• Advanced MS Excel for reporting and data analysis.
