Senior Accountant – Construction & Finance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, detail‑oriented Accounting professional to join ALEC Holdings in the UAE. The role focuses on financial integrity, general ledger management and corporate compliance within a large‑scale construction and industrial environment, applying UAE regulations and IFRS.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day financial accounting for multiple entities, owning monthly P&L and balance‑sheet preparation.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate aged items and maintain robust supporting documentation.
• Apply IFRS principles to complex transactions, support new accounting standards and liaise with auditors.
• Review contracts for revenue, cost and cash‑flow implications, supporting contract accounting and revenue recognition.
• Oversee inventory accounting, valuation and cost‑allocation, reconciling sub‑ledgers to the general ledger.
• Provide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and ad‑hoc support to management.
• Identify and implement improvements to internal controls and accounting processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in construction or industrial sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
• Strong knowledge and practical application of IFRS and UAE financial regulations.
• Proven experience managing accounting and reporting for multiple entities.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively with operational teams.
