Senior Accountant – Construction

About the role

The Senior Accountant – Construction will manage and maintain accurate financial records for construction projects, supporting month‑end and year‑end closing, and ensuring compliance with UAE accounting and tax regulations. The role works closely with Project Management, Procurement, Commercial, Contracts, HR, and Operations teams to deliver reliable project costing, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts, record journal entries, accruals, provisions, and perform monthly reconciliations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and investigate accounting discrepancies.
• Monitor project‑related revenues, costs, work‑in‑progress, and coordinate billing, variations, and claims with Project and Commercial teams.
• Review and allocate supplier and subcontractor invoices, reconcile statements, and manage payment schedules.
• Monitor customer accounts, prepare invoices, follow up receivables, and support revenue recognition.
• Ensure proper VAT treatment, assist with VAT return preparation, and maintain tax documentation.
• Prepare financial schedules and reports, and support external auditors and tax consultants.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction project accounting and cost monitoring.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT and tax compliance requirements.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams on billing, variations, and financial reporting.
