Senior Accountant - Cross Trade

About the role

A full-time Senior Accountant position in cross-trade accounting in Sharjah, UAE. The candidate must be based in the UAE. The role covers the full set of accounts, trade finance and compliance for a trading business.

Key responsibilities

• Handle the full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL and bank reconciliations
• Manage cross-trade accounting: back-to-back transactions, high-seas sales and import/export documentation
• Prepare monthly closing, financial statements and management reports
• Coordinate with banks for letters of credit, trade finance and foreign currency transactions
• Monitor inventory in transit, costing and margin analysis for cross-trade shipments
• Ensure VAT, corporate tax and compliance for the trading business in the UAE
• Liaise with auditors, suppliers, freight forwarders and clients
• Oversee ERP entries and improve accounting processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting
• 6-8+ years of experience in the trading industry in the UAE with cross-trade or international trading exposure

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of trade finance, LC, Incoterms and freight accounting
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Tally, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel
