Senior Accountant – Real Estate & Construction

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant with a strong background in real estate and proven experience in the construction industry. The role involves overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and delivering accurate reporting to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare, review and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local tax laws and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor project costing, revenue recognition and expense allocations for construction and real‑estate projects.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors.
• Develop and implement internal controls, accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis for strategic planning.
• Oversee cash‑flow management and fund allocation across projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, CMA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• 5–7 years of accounting experience in the construction industry with exposure to real‑estate projects.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, cost control and revenue recognition principles.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with VAT filing and compliance in the UAE.
