Senior Aerodynamics Engineer – Missiles

About the role

ADVANCED CONCEPTS, part of EDGE, is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the aerodynamic design and optimization of missile systems. You will integrate aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and propulsion knowledge to deliver high‑performance aerospace structures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of missile fuselage, wings, and control surfaces, ensuring balanced functionality and performance.
• Apply deep knowledge of transonic and supersonic aerodynamics, control theory, and jet propulsion to guide concept generation, trade‑off studies, and multi‑disciplinary optimization.
• Develop and maintain simulation tools, low‑fidelity (DATCOM) and high‑fidelity (ANSYS Fluent) models, and support the chief engineer with technical contributions.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish infrastructure, tools, and labs for aerodynamic analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the UAS industry, including 3+ years in a senior or team‑lead role.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills for design computations and simulation interpretation.
• Effective communication of complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of MS Office and MATLAB.
• Proficiency with a CAD package (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with low‑fidelity aerodynamic tools (DATCOM) and advanced CFD simulations (ANSYS Fluent).
• Working knowledge of jet propulsion systems (turbine and solid‑rocket motors) and missile control theory.
