Senior Architect - Site

About the role

Egis, an international architecture, consulting and construction engineering firm operating in 100 countries, is looking for an experienced Senior Architect - Site to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The role oversees all architectural works on site, ensuring strict adherence to contract documents, specifications and quality standards, and acts as a key link between the design team, contractors and project management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor all architectural works to ensure conformance with contract documents, procedures manual and project specifications
• Review, analyse and process architectural technical submittals
• Handle architectural Requests for Information (RFIs) in a timely and transparent way
• Supervise architectural activities and operations across the site
• Evaluate contractor architectural change order proposals and review contractor claims, giving recommendations to the Project Manager
• Lead interdisciplinary coordination with other design disciplines and sub-consultants
• Mentor architectural inspectors and conduct inspections of completed works, including start-up, testing, commissioning and handover
• Sign off completed works and verify that documentation is complete and accurate
• Prepare weekly planning and progress reports, and perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture
• At least 15 years of professional experience in the Middle East
• 6-8 years in a UAE or Middle East-based international consultancy
• Knowledge of exterior envelope details, material interfaces and architectural systems
• English verbal and written communication; project specification and contract knowledge
• Leadership, team management and organisational skills
