Senior Associate - Group VAT

About the role

The Senior Associate – Group VAT will play a pivotal role in implementing tax strategies, supporting M&A transactions, and ensuring compliance with UAE VAT regulations across the Aldar Group. Reporting to the AVP – Group VAT, the role collaborates with the wider tax team and finance functions to deliver robust indirect tax solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the AVP and tax team in designing and executing indirect tax strategies aligned with group objectives.
• Review VAT‑related transactions, documentation, and intercompany reconciliations for compliance.
• Prepare and file indirect tax returns and support periodic reporting to authorities.
• Monitor legislative changes, assess impact, and propose process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to optimise VAT positions and mitigate tax risks.
• Support audit processes, including responding to tax authority inquiries.
• Provide training and guidance to finance, accounting, and internal control teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in VAT, M&A, and cross‑border tax advisory, preferably within the real‑estate sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in Tax or Accounting plus CA, ADIT or ATT qualification.
• Strong knowledge of UAE tax laws, accounting standards, and financial reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment.
