Senior Auditor - UAE National

About the role

Emirates Global Aluminium is looking for a Senior Auditor (UAE National) to assist the Principal Auditor in delivering internal audit services for a specific assignment. Working under the guidance of the Manager IA, the Senior Auditor carries out parts of the overall audit, identifies areas of non-compliance and helps mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities

• Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures in line with IIA professional standards
• Carry out day-to-day operations of the Internal Audit function according to EGA's audit methodology
• Take part in risk assessments and audit plans, including risk analysis, process mapping and testing of internal controls
• Identify process improvements and cost reduction opportunities, and assess the adequacy of internal controls
• Prepare work papers and draft observations for review by the audit team leader
• Assist in developing recommendations to remediate findings, track their implementation and inform the Senior Manager IA and Principal Auditor of critical issues
• Take part in ad-hoc reviews requested by management and in fraud investigations
• Comply with safety, quality and environmental management policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Engineering, working towards a professional qualification from a recognised international accounting body (e.g. CPA, CIMA, CMA, CA)
• Audit-related professional qualification such as CIA or CISA
• 3-6 years of internal audit or relevant business process experience in a large manufacturing company or with a Big 4 audit firm
• Knowledge of the manufacturing industry, especially aluminium
• Intermediate knowledge of IIA Standards, COSO, ERM and COBIT
• Good analytical skills, ability to spot red flags and assess fraud risk, and adequate English

Required skills

• Advantageous: data analysis techniques and computer-assisted audit tools such as ACL/IDEA
• One or more of: IT governance, security and ISO; aluminium smelting plant processes; IFRS, finance and accounting; HR, supply chain, marketing and sales, treasury
