Senior Automation & Control Engineer (PMC)

About the role

Wood is seeking a PMC Senior Automation & Control Engineer to join the ADNOC Gas team in Abu Dhabi. The role provides technical leadership and engineering assurance for automation, instrumentation and control (AIC) systems across all project phases, from front‑end engineering design (FEED) through detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee AIC engineering activities ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, international codes and Wood’s design philosophies.
• Monitor and review EPC contractor deliverables, guaranteeing quality, schedule adherence and HSE objectives.
• Provide engineering assurance throughout FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start‑up phases.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate automation solutions into major oil & gas projects.
• Ensure all documentation, testing and validation meet approved standards and client expectations.

Required profile

• Significant experience in automation, instrumentation and control engineering within large‑scale oil & gas projects.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage EPC contractor performance.
• Strong knowledge of international codes, design standards and HSE requirements.
• Willingness to work onsite at the client office in Abu Dhabi.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
