Senior Automotive Design Engineer (R&D) – Dubai

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Automotive Design Engineer (R&D) to lead the design and development of custom vehicle projects in Dubai. The role involves taking concepts through to production, ensuring compliance with UAE/GCC standards and delivering high‑quality solutions for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end automotive design and development for custom builds and vehicle modifications.
• Create concept designs and high‑quality renders for client approval.
• Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings for sheet‑metal, structural components and full vehicle assemblies.
• Manage the product lifecycle from concept, prototyping, production to testing.
• Validate designs for feasibility, manufacturability, cost efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, technical documentation, ECNs and design revisions.
• Coordinate with production workshops and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Mentor junior designers and engineers on best practices and design standards.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering or equivalent.
• 6‑10+ years of experience in automotive design, vehicle modification or up‑fitting.
• Proven experience delivering projects in the GCC region is preferred.
• Strong leadership, project ownership and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Geomagic Design and SketchUp.
• Expertise in sheet‑metal design, structural component design and full‑vehicle assembly.
• Knowledge of manufacturing feasibility, DFM/DFA principles and vehicle modification standards.
