Senior Backend Engineer (Python/Django)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Python and Django to join a fast‑growing, international technology team. The role is fully remote and will support a global connectivity platform used by millions of travelers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high‑performance microservices using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
• Develop scalable APIs capable of handling high concurrency and traffic spikes.
• Contribute to software architecture with a focus on operations, automation, resilience, and scalability.
• Implement comprehensive unit testing with Pytest and automated quality checks.
• Identify and resolve technical debt, performance bottlenecks, inefficient database queries, N+1 problems, and asynchronous processing issues.
• Integrate microservices with complex third‑party systems and services.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and engineering teams across international locations to translate business requirements into maintainable solutions.
• Champion best practices in design patterns, documentation, code reviews, and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong expertise in Django and Django REST Framework.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and solid understanding of backend architecture.
• Proven experience designing and building microservices and integrating complex third‑party ecosystems.
• Hands‑on experience with performance profiling, optimization, and asynchronous programming techniques.
