Senior Cloud & Application Modernization Engineer

About the role

Cyber Gate Defense is looking for a Senior Cloud & Application Modernization Engineer to lead the secure transformation of legacy systems into cloud‑native solutions across AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud. The role focuses on containerization, API‑driven integrations, and cloud security for defense and government clients.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor and containerize legacy applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, OKE).
• Design, develop, and deploy SharePoint Online solutions, including SPFx web parts and Microsoft Graph integrations.
• Implement secure API architectures with OAuth 2.0, Entra ID, AWS Cognito, and Oracle IDCS.
• Conduct multi‑cloud security assessments (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS) and produce remediation roadmaps.
• Automate provisioning and compliance with Terraform, ARM templates, and CloudFormation, using Python or PowerShell scripts.
• Build monitoring and compliance dashboards in Power BI and Grafana.
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, Oracle DevOps).

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in cloud engineering and application modernization.
• Proven expertise in multi‑cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud).
• Strong background in container orchestration, infrastructure‑as‑code, and cloud security.
