Senior Commercial Manager

About the role

The Senior Commercial Manager will join QP’s Project Management Consultant Team, leading cost and commercial management across the company’s project portfolio. The role oversees commercial, financial and contract administration throughout each project’s lifecycle, ensuring client objectives, budgets, timelines and quality standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead negotiation, drafting and administration of project contracts, managing amendments, disputes and claims.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, implement cost control, value engineering and produce financial reports for senior management.
• Identify commercial risks, create mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Act as primary commercial interface with clients and coordinate with design teams, contractors and regulators.
• Develop procurement strategies, manage suppliers and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Lead and mentor a team of project delivery professionals, conducting performance reviews and fostering development.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Economics or related field.
• 8–10 years of cost/commercial management experience in architecture, engineering, construction or consultancy.
• Experience across multiple jurisdictions, preferably GCC and Europe/MENA, and hands‑on with FIDIC contracts.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with risk judgement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in cost management/ERP tools.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of FIDIC (or equivalent) contract administration.
