Senior Commissioning Engineer (Electrical) - Offshore, WHT, Subsea & Piping

About the role

Penspen, a global energy services company providing asset integrity, engineering and consultancy services to the oil, gas, hydrogen and energy infrastructure sectors, is recruiting a Senior Commissioning Engineer (Electrical) for an offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The role covers Wellhead Towers (WHTs), subsea cable and pipeline developments, offshore platforms and brownfield modifications.

Key responsibilities

• Execute electrical commissioning for offshore oil and gas projects, including WHTs, subsea developments, platforms and brownfield modifications.
• Ensure electrical systems are safely installed, tested, energized, commissioned and handed over in line with project specs, international standards, company procedures and operational requirements.
• Serve as technical authority for electrical commissioning and interface with engineering, construction, vendors, operations and client teams.
• Develop commissioning execution plans, procedures and systemization strategies, and prepare commissioning schedules aligned with project milestones.
• Review engineering deliverables, vendor documentation and commissioning requirements, and define system and subsystem boundaries for Mechanical Completion.
• Take part in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability, operability and commissioning reviews.
• Coordinate electrical commissioning for Wellhead Towers and their associated platforms, support integration with central processing facilities, and verify power distribution and communication interfaces.
• Support subsea power cable commissioning, verifying cable continuity, insulation resistance, sheath integrity and termination quality, and coordinate testing of subsea power supply systems and topside interfaces.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years significant in offshore projects.
• Proven electrical commissioning experience.
• Experience commissioning offshore platforms, Wellhead Towers, jackets and topsides, and brownfield facilities preferred.
• PMC/EPC background preferred; previous ADNOC Offshore experience is an advantage.
