Senior Commissioning Engineer (HVAC) - Offshore, WHT, Subsea & Piping

About the role

Penspen is urgently hiring a Senior Commissioning Engineer (HVAC) for an offshore project management contractor (PMC) project in Abu Dhabi. The role covers HVAC commissioning for offshore oil and gas facilities, including Wellhead Towers, subsea cable and pipeline developments and brownfield modification projects.

Key responsibilities

• Execute HVAC commissioning for offshore oil and gas facilities, including Wellhead Towers, offshore platforms, subsea cable and pipeline developments and brownfield projects.
• Ensure heating, ventilation, air conditioning, pressurisation and refrigeration systems are installed, tested, commissioned and handed over safely and in line with project specifications, international standards, safety requirements and operational performance criteria.
• Ensure HVAC systems supporting personnel safety, equipment reliability, hazardous area protection and operational continuity perform as designed before startup and handover.
• Develop HVAC commissioning execution plans, procedures, method statements and schedules.
• Review engineering deliverables, vendor documentation, P&IDs, HVAC layouts, control philosophies and system descriptions; define system boundaries and turnover sequences.
• Take part in constructability reviews, operability reviews, HAZID, HAZOP and startup readiness assessments.
• Prepare commissioning dossiers, test sheets and checklists, and coordinate with construction, electrical, I&C and operations teams.
• Commission Wellhead Towers and associated facilities, verify ventilation and pressurisation for control and electrical rooms, and support subsea control equipment rooms.
• Coordinate commissioning under SIMOPS conditions and ensure HVAC support continues during modifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years significant in offshore projects.
• Proven dedicated experience in HVAC commissioning.
• Experience with offshore platforms, Wellhead Towers, jackets and topsides and brownfield facilities preferred.
• PMC/EPC background preferred; previous ADNOC offshore experience is an advantage.
