Senior Communications Specialist – 1 Year Fixed-Term

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Communications Specialist to join our Communications team in Dubai. The role covers both external and internal communications, crafting and executing strategic initiatives that support Careem’s services such as ride‑hailing, food delivery, payments and quick commerce.

Key responsibilities

• Execute external and internal communications strategies that amplify Careem’s mission, services and impact.
• Manage media relations, including press outreach, drafting releases and maintaining relationships with journalists and influencers across priority markets.
• Support internal communications such as leadership emails, all‑hands content, organisational announcements and engagement campaigns.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, policy and people teams to ensure consistent messaging across channels.
• Handle crisis communication and reputation management in partnership with senior leadership.
• Track media coverage and internal engagement, producing regular reports to assess effectiveness.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in communications, public relations or journalism, preferably in a high‑growth tech company or leading PR agency.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic communications plans across multiple markets.
• Strong writing, storytelling and editorial skills with the ability to translate complex topics into compelling narratives.
• Excellent media network and relationship‑management skills, particularly in the MENA region.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
