Senior Consultant - Internal Audit (Financial Services & Banking)

About the role

This role is a Senior Consultant in Internal Audit covering financial services and banking. It sits within a practice where the consultant identifies risks, develops audit plans and programmes, manages audit procedures, reports to seniors and engagement directors, and helps build the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate the client's risk areas across significant processes and contribute to a risk-based annual internal audit plan.
• Develop audit programmes and procedures, including a Risk and Control Matrix (RCM).
• Manage audit procedures: define issues, set criteria, review and analyse evidence, document client processes and demonstrate technical competence.
• Report results through written reports and oral presentations to seniors, engagement directors and client management.
• Assist the engagement director in identifying new firm services, prepare and track proposals and run proposal meetings.
• Engage the team through individual contacts and group meetings, and help with hiring, training and evaluation of practice personnel.

Required profile

• CA/CIA with a commerce background; industry specialization preferred.
• 4+ years' experience in banking or financial services, preferably in internal audit, consulting, advisory or professional services.
• Candidates from leading regional consulting firms preferred.
• Prior management and direct supervisory experience in a team environment; mentoring and people development skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, handle stress professionally, and travel to meet client needs.

Required skills

• Knowledge of next-generation internal audit solutions such as continuous controls monitoring, process mining and analytics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, presentation, project management and time management skills.
