Senior Corporate Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to lead our legal function in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency and blockchain space. The role will provide strategic legal guidance across UAE and international jurisdictions, ensuring the company’s operations remain compliant and protected.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver expert legal advice on UAE law, international law, and cryptocurrency‑specific regulations.
• Assess feasibility of entering new markets, focusing on crypto and blockchain regulatory frameworks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to encryption, blockchain and digital assets.
• Guide compliance and regulatory governance for UAE and cross‑border operations.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks unique to the crypto industry.
• Oversee dispute resolution, including litigation, mediation and arbitration, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
• Protect intellectual property rights concerning digital assets and blockchain technology.
• Support corporate governance best practices for crypto and digital‑asset trading.
• Provide training to internal teams on cryptocurrency compliance and legal risk management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B); Master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of legal experience in UAE law and common‑law jurisdictions, preferably within cryptocurrency, blockchain or fintech.
• Lawyer’s license in the UAE or a common‑law country is highly desirable.
• Deep knowledge of UAE company, commercial, labor, contract and criminal law, as well as international trade and dispute‑resolution principles.
• Strong familiarity with cryptocurrency regulations, blockchain compliance requirements and industry best practices.
• Fluent in English; Arabic and Chinese are a significant advantage.
