Senior Cost Manager - Quantity Surveyor, Rail

About the role

Mace is recruiting a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor for a rail project in Dubai. The role leads cost management services across the project lifecycle, giving robust commercial advice and supporting client outcomes. The UAE is investing heavily in rail infrastructure, from passenger rail to metro and integrated transport programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of cost management services across the project lifecycle
• Develop and maintain cost plans, estimates and financial forecasts, and support cost control against budget
• Manage procurement, including tendering, analysis, contract preparation and supplier engagement
• Oversee contract administration, valuations, variations and final account settlement
• Provide cost reporting, financial analysis and performance insights
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, and implement value engineering solutions
• Build relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders
• Develop teams through mentoring and knowledge sharing, and promote safety, sustainability and net zero carbon goals

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent professional experience in the applicable discipline
• Demonstrated experience on rail, metro, high-speed rail or comparable major infrastructure programmes
• Strong client-facing, analytical, written communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills
• Knowledge of delivery processes, standards, systems and governance for the role
• Professional membership, chartership or specialist certification preferred; UAE or GCC experience is advantageous
