Senior Credit Documentation Officer

About the role

The Senior Credit Documentation Officer acts as the final filter in the limit approval process, ensuring that all exposures undertaken by the bank are reviewed for adequacy and compliance. The role safeguards the bank by verifying that all source documents, charge documentation, securities and insurance policies are legally enforceable and properly valued before limits are released.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that all terms and conditions of credit approvals are complied with and that required securities and documents are obtained before releasing limits.
• Prepare and review facility, agreement and security documents to ensure legal and policy compliance.
• Update credit‑related information in systems, including risk rating, expiry dates and collateral details.
• Assist the Team Leader in implementing audit recommendations and formulating department SOPs.
• Maintain turnaround times per SLAs, provide excellent service to business partners, and log any exceptions for tracking.
• Ensure safe custody of all credit and security documentation and act as backup custodian for security keys.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of banking experience with at least 3 years in credit documentation and operations.
• Strong knowledge of Islamic credit products, bank policies and product manuals.
• Effective communication skills in English (Arabic preferred) and ability to work independently.
• Analytical mindset with good PC and technological proficiency.
