Senior Cyber Security Engineer – Rail & Metro

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join Sener’s Rail & Metro team in the United Arab Emirates. You will lead the design, implementation and assurance of cybersecurity solutions for complex railway systems and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity engineering across concept, preliminary, detailed and IFC design stages.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity requirements, control specifications, threat models, risk registers and mitigation strategies.
• Perform risk, threat, vulnerability and security impact assessments for railway and associated systems.
• Coordinate requirements across signalling, train control, telecoms, SCADA, OCC, MEP, power and other subsystems.
• Review system and network architectures, technical specifications and supplier proposals to identify and address security risks.
• Support verification, design assurance, validation and testing activities, and provide technical support during integration, installation and commissioning.
• Ensure traceability of cybersecurity requirements throughout design changes and hand‑over.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably in rail or transportation projects.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary environments and coordinate with clients, contractors and suppliers.
