Senior Design Engineer Composites

About the role

AL TARIQ is seeking a Senior Design Engineer specialized in composites to lead manufacturing design activities for advanced autonomous systems. The role involves driving material and process selection, ensuring manufacturability, and supporting production of high‑technology aerospace and defence platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design reviews, critique concepts and select optimal manufacturing processes for composite parts.
• Analyse and compare manufacturing methods and materials, presenting clear recommendations to project leadership.
• Develop and implement engineering changes, work instructions and monitor compliance on the shop floor.
• Drive technical selection of materials, design alternative processes to improve quality, efficiency and cost competitiveness.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on production issues and propose permanent solutions.
• Monitor project life‑cycle metrics, material usage and production efficiency, creating actionable improvement plans.
• Validate finished products against tolerance, mechanical performance and quality standards.
• Redesign parts or create new assemblies from concept to production drawings, including full BOMs.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of production engineering experience with a focus on composites.
• Preferably 10+ years in a similar role with certifications in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
• Proven ability to work on complex aerospace or defence projects.
• Strong analytical mindset and willingness to adopt emerging technologies.
