Senior Desktop Software Engineer

About the role

The company is seeking a Senior Desktop Software Engineer to develop and maintain Ground Control Station (GCS) software using the Qt Framework and QML. The role involves full‑lifecycle development, close collaboration with hardware teams, and ensuring high‑performance, safety‑critical GUI applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, test, integrate, and deploy GCS software with a focus on intuitive, high‑performance GUIs.
• Collaborate with hardware and embedded systems teams to guarantee seamless software‑hardware integration.
• Perform integration and unit testing, document architecture, and produce user guides and technical documentation.
• Maintain coding standards and best practices for safety‑critical environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of software development experience (or 7+ years with a Master’s).
• At least 5 years of hands‑on C++ development and extensive work with large, complex codebases.

Required skills

• C++ and object‑oriented programming.
• Qt Framework, Qt QML, and GUI development.
• Linux development environment, Python for tooling.
• Networking protocols: TCP, UDP, IP.
• Embedded communication: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet.
• Real‑time operating systems, RTOS concepts.
• Safety‑critical standards: DO‑178C, ISO 26262, RTCA guidelines.
• Version control (Git) and CI tools (Jenkins).
• Agile/Scrum methodology awareness.
