Senior Director, Turnaround and Restructuring

About the role

Ankura is hiring a Senior Director for its Turnaround and Restructuring practice, one of five business groups within the firm. The team works with healthy, under-performing and distressed companies, helping clients navigate change and grow enterprise value through financial, operational and commercial insight. The role suits candidates with a strong mix of strategy, consulting and hands-on operational experience.

Required profile

• Master's degree and/or MBA, or evidence of a strong academic record; a degree in Business, Finance or Engineering is preferable but not essential.
• Extensive, relevant experience combining consulting/advisory and industry work in Big 4, boutique consulting or strategy houses.
• Experience in both financial restructuring and operational restructuring/transformation, or delivering such programmes across multiple markets and industries.
• Proven experience leading debt restructuring transactions and discussions with lenders.
• Ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders, in a PMO or wider transformation office setting.
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another language, including Arabic, is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel and work outside normal business hours.

Required skills

• Developing business plans and restructuring options, and identifying turnaround and value creation initiatives.
• Strong financial literacy and modelling, with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent relationship management with C-suite stakeholders and executive-level presentation skills.
• Understanding of levers such as cost reduction, supply chain and procurement, cash and working capital management, PMI and carve-outs, and strategic planning.
