Senior Drainage Engineer – Hydraulic Modeler

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer with strong hydraulic modelling expertise to join its Dubai team. You will work on complex civil and transport infrastructure projects, delivering high‑quality drainage and storm‑water solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary digital design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design civil and transport infrastructure drainage systems, including piped networks and transverse structures.
• Perform detailed analysis and review of hydrological and hydraulic models.
• Provide technical expertise for storm‑water quality systems and flood mitigation.
• Lead hydraulic and system design to meet site‑specific requirements.
• Apply innovative, value‑engineered solutions and digital tools (CAD/BIM/3‑D).
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior engineers.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, reports, and design reviews.
• Coordinate with CAD/BIM/3‑D modelling teams and obtain client approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Hydrology or Water Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in water engineering, storm‑water drainage design, and planning.
• Experience in the UAE/GCC and familiarity with Dubai Municipality design standards preferred.
• Strong understanding of hydrology and hydraulics principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience using SWMM, HEC‑RAS and HEC‑HMS.
• Compulsory knowledge of Infoworks ICM (1D/2D) for hydraulic modelling.
