Senior Drainage Engineer – Hydraulic Modeling

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer with strong hydraulic modelling expertise to join its Dubai team. The role involves delivering complex storm‑water and drainage designs for civil and transport infrastructure projects across the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyse civil and transport drainage systems, including piped networks and transverse structures.
• Develop, calibrate and review hydrological and hydraulic models using SWMM, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS and InfoWorks ICM.
• Produce detailed plan and profile drawings, design reports and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with CAD/BIM/3‑D modelling teams and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Engineering or Hydrology (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of water‑engineering experience, preferably in the UAE/GCC and with Dubai Municipality standards.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or progress towards qualification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hydraulic modelling software: SWMM, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, InfoWorks ICM (1D/2D) and Bentley StormCAD.
• Advanced CAD and GIS skills: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, ArcMap/ArcGIS.
• Experience using SewerGEMS, InfoDrainage, and Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS) principles.
