Senior Electroneurodiagnostic/Neurophysiology Technologist

About the role

The Senior Electroneurodiagnostic/Neurophysiology Technologist independently performs all neurodiagnostic operations in compliance with laboratory standards and may supervise staff. The position is based in a hospital setting and supports both routine and advanced neurophysiological testing.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain inventory of supplies, rotate stock, and remove outdated items.
• Report equipment malfunctions, arrange repairs, and document all testing procedures.
• Plan laboratory schedules, prioritize workload, and ensure timely patient care.
• Participate in technical conferences, meetings, and assume supervisor duties when absent.
• Apply electrodes using the International 10‑20 System, verify impedance, and perform routine and advanced EEG recordings.
• Conduct long‑term video EEG monitoring in the epilepsy monitoring unit.
• Execute visual, brainstem, and somatosensory evoked potentials with high‑quality results.
• Perform nerve conduction studies with patient‑appropriate techniques.
• Monitor quality improvement indicators, evaluate staff competency, and coordinate education sessions.
• Assist in hiring, training new staff, and handle departmental issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a hospital neurodiagnostic setting.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent 3‑year diploma) in Applied Sciences, Neurophysiology, Biophysics/Physiology, or related field.
• Current national license to practice.
