Senior Ellucian Applications Specialist

About the role

The Senior Ellucian Applications Specialist will be a key member of the IT team, responsible for implementing, maintaining and optimizing the Banner ERP system and its extensibility platform to support the institution’s administrative, academic and financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support the Banner system, ensuring availability, performance and security.
• Gather business requirements, design functional solutions and customize Banner, Experience Cards, Extensions and Pages.
• Develop and maintain in‑house applications, integrations and reports using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, React, AngularJS and related technologies.
• Lead migration of legacy Oracle Forms/Reports to modern Ellucian Experience Cards and SaaS solutions.
• Provide training, documentation and user support for staff, faculty and administrators.
• Participate in Banner‑related projects such as upgrades, migrations and new module implementations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise application development, support and integration.
• Hands‑on expertise with Ellucian Banner Extensibility tools and the Ethos Platform.
• Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience in an academic, government or corporate IT environment is preferred.

• CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Docker, monitoring with Datadog
• Security standards: SAML, OAuth, JWT, OWASP, tools like Snyk, Burp, Checkmarx
• Testing tools: SonarQube, JMeter, Jest, Playwright
• Generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot for code acceleration
