Senior Engineer - EMC/EMI

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the UAE focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring a Senior Engineer - EMC/EMI for its Halcon business unit. The role supports the design, analysis, testing and qualification of advanced electronic and RF systems for defence applications, covering EMC/EMI compliance, electromagnetic environmental effects (E3), risk assessment, testing, troubleshooting and system-level integration. The candidate works with multidisciplinary engineering teams, test laboratories and stakeholders to meet military standards and program requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct EMC/EMI analysis, testing, validation and compliance for electronic and RF systems in line with military standards.
• Lead pre-compliance and formal EMC testing, including emissions, immunity, ESD, surge, radiated susceptibility and conducted susceptibility evaluations.
• Investigate EMC/EMI issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to achieve compliance and improve performance.
• Develop test plans, technical reports and compliance documentation, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in EMC/EMI engineering, RF systems, electromagnetic analysis, testing and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of EMC, EMI, E3, MIL-STD-461, electromagnetic principles and compliance methodologies.
• Preferred: experience in defence, aerospace, military or mission-critical electronics, and exposure to E3, HIRF, lightning effects, EMRADHAZ and system certification programs.
• English proficiency required; unsolicited resumes from recruitment agencies are not accepted.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with RF/EMC test equipment and engineering tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, CST/HFSS and Microwave Office.
