Senior Engineer, Energy Management

About the role

The Senior Engineer, Energy Management will lead the development, design and continuous improvement of ADNOC's Energy Management System for its ocean‑going fleet. The role ensures compliance with maritime regulations, drives energy‑efficiency initiatives and provides technical expertise to optimise vessel energy performance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse hull and propeller performance data and report findings.
• Monitor non‑propulsion energy use, auxiliary boiler operations and produce daily/monthly energy performance reports.
• Identify operational improvement opportunities and oversee energy‑efficiency projects to deliver measurable benefits.
• Develop and maintain the Energy Management System to meet international certification standards.
• Conduct energy audits, technical assessments and retrofitting activities across the fleet.
• Lead compliance monitoring with IMO, EU MRV, ECA and other relevant regulations.
• Research, test and implement new energy‑saving technologies and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide training, mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in energy management within the maritime industry.
• Proven track record of managing energy optimisation projects and conducting technical assessments.
• Professional certifications such as CMVP, CEM or ISO 50001 Lead Auditor are a plus.
