Senior Engineer - Environment

About the role

AECOM is seeking a technically and commercially strong Senior Engineer – Environment to lead Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA/ESIA) for fast‑paced, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects across the UAE and GCC. You will own end‑to‑end delivery, mentor junior staff and support business development while aligning with the company’s Sustainable Legacies strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, management and delivery of EIAs/ESIAs from screening and scoping through to approvals and post‑consent obligations.
• Take full ownership of scope, schedule, budget, risks and quality, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
• Mentor, coach and quality‑review work of junior and mid‑level practitioners.
• Contribute to work‑winning activities and client development.
• Translate Sustainable Legacies pillars into practical project outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex EIAs/ESIAs in a consultancy environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage budgets and client expectations.
• Leadership skills with a track record of mentoring junior staff.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Required skills

• Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) methodologies.
• Technical specialisms such as air quality, noise, hydrology, ecology or social impact assessment.
• Screening, scoping, permitting and post‑consent compliance processes.
