Senior Engineer Occupational Health

About the role

The Senior Engineer – Occupational Health will lead the monitoring and improvement of health, safety and environment (HSE) performance across ADNOC Drilling’s operations and plant assets in Abu Dhabi. The role serves as the primary point of contact for HSE management systems, ensuring compliance with company standards, policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor HSE inspections to verify that products, services, equipment and processes meet safety standards.
• Review reports and feedback from technical, project and quality functions to provide timely HSE support.
• Conduct and participate in complex, high‑impact HSE inspections for equipment installation, asset start‑up, loading, off‑loading and shutdown activities.
• Act as the first point of contact for safety, health and environment matters, facilitating communication with plant personnel.
• Update purchasing standards to ensure procured equipment complies with safety codes and latest technology.
• Identify hazardous activities, implement risk mitigation measures and oversee proper disposal of hazardous waste and toxic chemicals.
• Monitor and maintain safety tools and personal protective equipment, supporting preventive maintenance programs.
• Develop and maintain safety manuals, hazardous area instructions, safety publications and visual aids.

Required profile

• Degree in Occupational Health, Safety Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in HSE monitoring and compliance within an industrial or oil‑and‑gas environment.
• Strong understanding of HSE standards, regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with multidisciplinary teams.
