Senior Engineer – Operation Readiness & Assurance (Electrical)

About the role

The Senior Engineer – Operation Readiness & Assurance (Electrical) will provide discipline oversight to ensure electrical facilities are ready for safe energisation, start‑up and reliable operation. The role coordinates readiness activities from engineering through commissioning and hand‑over, verifying that systems, procedures and documentation meet project and operator requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor an electrical operational readiness plan, defining deliverables, milestones and acceptance criteria.
• Review electrical designs for operability, maintainability, reliability and safe isolation, incorporating O&M requirements.
• Assess readiness of power generation and distribution assets such as HV/LV switchgear, transformers, motors, protection systems, emergency power, UPS and earthing.
• Coordinate with client, EPC contractors, commissioning teams, operations, maintenance, HSE and vendors to resolve readiness gaps.
• Verify preparation of asset registers, criticality assessments, preventive maintenance plans and CMMS data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of electrical engineering experience in oil & gas projects, with at least 5 years in operations, maintenance, commissioning or start‑up.
• Proven experience in project‑to‑operations hand‑over and coordination among operator, PMC, EPC and vendors.
• Experience with electrical systems in hazardous areas and relevant safety standards.
