Senior Fire and Life Safety Design & Estimation Engineer

About the role

The Senior Fire and Life Safety Design & Estimation Engineer will lead the preparation of cost estimates, technical proposals and detailed engineering designs for fire alarm, emergency lighting and clean‑agent gas suppression systems across DEWA, TAQA and other industrial, utility and commercial projects in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings and specifications to extract design and cost requirements.
• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities, material take‑offs and accurate cost estimates.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations and compile technical and commercial bid submissions.
• Design fire alarm, emergency lighting and gas suppression systems in compliance with UAE Civil Defence, DEWA/TAQA standards and NFPA codes.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing and system selection.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal disciplines to ensure compliant and cost‑effective solutions.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities and provide technical support during procurement and project hand‑over.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in fire and life‑safety system design and estimation.
• Proven experience on DEWA, TAQA, industrial, utility, power, oil & gas and infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE Civil Defence regulations, NFPA and IEC standards.
