Senior HVAC Engineer (100% Position)

About the role

ARX is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer for its Dubai site office to lead design reviews and coordinate multidisciplinary teams on airport, aviation, and large‑volume industrial projects in the Gulf.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and review HVAC, specialty ventilation, smoke management, chilled water, air distribution, controls and commissioning design deliverables.
• Assess and review large‑volume hangar concepts, stratification control, displacement ventilation, jet nozzle systems and operational comfort criteria.
• Coordinate HVAC requirements with architecture, structure, fire safety, electrical, controls, BIM/CAD and commissioning teams.
• Prepare and review design reports, specifications, calculations, drawings, material submittals, BOQs and design review responses.
• Support commissioning readiness, TAB planning, inspection requirements and operational handover.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years HVAC experience, at least 6 years reviewing submittals for large industrial, airport or major infrastructure facilities in the Gulf.
• Experience with airport/aviation facilities, especially hangars, MRO, paint hangars or hazardous‑area ventilation.
• Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, central plant interfaces, thermal balance and commissioning requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal English, leadership capability and analytical thinking.

Required skills

• HVAC design and specialty ventilation (ATEX, LEL monitoring, purge cycles).
• Chilled water system design, primary/secondary pumping, thermal balance.
• Equipment submittal review: AHU, chiller, pump, fan, control valve, damper, ductwork.
• Standards: ASHRAE 15/55/62.1/90.1, NFPA 409 & 33, SMACNA, Dubai Green Building Regulations, LEED.
