Senior I&C & Automation/Telecom Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior I&C & Automation/Telecom Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. The role involves ensuring compliance with client specifications, international standards and project requirements across the full engineering lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate instrumentation, control, automation and telecom engineering activities for FEED, detailed engineering, EPC and brownfield projects.
• Prepare, review and approve engineering deliverables such as instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, control narratives, cable schedules and system architecture drawings.
• Design and specify field instrumentation, control valves, analyzers, DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD, fire‑&‑gas and safety‑instrumented systems.
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, FAT, SAT and design‑review workshops and support vendor document review.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning and start‑up, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of oil & gas experience, including 5+ years on PMC projects and solid EPC team background.
• Experience with greenfield and brownfield terminal/facilities upgrades, preferably in the GCC/Middle East.
