Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Water)

About the role

KN International is looking for a detail-oriented, technically proficient Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Water) to join its infrastructure design team. The role covers the planning, design and documentation of wet utility systems, including water supply, wastewater, irrigation and stormwater networks. It suits someone with strong experience in hydraulic modelling, BIM integration and authority coordination in the UAE, particularly Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engineering reports and design documentation for water, wastewater, irrigation and stormwater infrastructure.
• Perform hydraulic modelling and analysis for pressurised and gravity systems.
• Develop detailed design drawings using Civil 3D within a BIM environment.
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of design submissions in line with client and authority requirements.
• Conduct technical reviews, contribute to progress reporting and liaise with developers, clients and local authorities on design approvals.
• Coordinate design package preparation and submission, and report deviations from project requirements.
• Support other disciplines, assist Senior Engineers and Managers, and help with proposals and client presentations.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and prepare preliminary cost estimates for wet utility services.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, progressing towards Professional Registration (CEng or similar) with membership in a professional institution.
• 10 years of relevant UAE experience in wet infrastructure systems.
• In-depth understanding of Abu Dhabi authority guidelines and design approval processes.
• Strong knowledge of local authority requirements (DPM/UPC, ADDC, TRANSCO, DoE/ADWEA, ETISALAT, DU, RSB, ADM, DEWA, RTA, DM).
• Excellent communication, coordination and technical problem-solving skills; PMP or similar project management qualification is a plus.
• Willingness to work in Liwa, Western Region, Abu Dhabi.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Civil 3D and hydraulic modelling tools.
• Experience with BIM platforms such as ProjectWise, InfraWorks and Navisworks, and OpenUtilities.
• Proven expertise in pressurised and gravity systems.
