Senior Internal Auditor (UAE National)

About the role

The Emirates Investment Authority (EIA) is hiring a Senior Internal Auditor (UAE National) for its Internal Audit department, based on site in Abu Dhabi. The role supports the Chief Internal Auditor in planning and delivering audits across EIA's functions, including investments, and involves mentoring UAE nationals.

Key responsibilities

• Help create the multi-year and annual audit plans, and lead regular and ad hoc audits across all EIA functions
• Plan and oversee audit assignments, including notification letters, audit programs and summary memos, in line with the audit manual
• Identify risk management deficiencies, control gaps, fraud red flags and compliance issues, and recommend improvements
• Review internal controls, business processes and policies, and supervise internal and co-sourced auditors
• Prepare audit reports, report progress to stakeholders, and support audit activities for portfolio companies
• Follow up on agreed actions from previous reports, prepare materials for the Audit Committee, and perform follow-up audits
• Mentor UAE nationals, manage administrative tasks such as the IA Share Folder, and support other audit tasks as directed

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; a higher degree or certifications such as CPA, CIA or ACCA are highly preferred
• 4-6 years of relevant experience, preferably in internal audit or risk management; financial services experience is an advantage
• Fluent in English and Arabic; UAE National preferred
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor, solve problems analytically, work under tight deadlines, communicate clearly and mentor others

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of IAS/IFRS, audit reporting, compliance and financial analysis
• Familiarity with the IIA IPPF or equivalent audit standards
• Experience in risk assessment and management reporting
