Senior Internal Auditor (UAE National)

About the role

A leading Abu Dhabi-based investment organisation is looking to appoint a UAE national Senior Internal Auditor. The role covers a wide range of business activities, including investment operations, corporate functions and portfolio companies, and works closely with senior audit leadership to deliver risk-based audits and support a strong governance and assurance framework.

Key responsibilities

• Execute risk-based internal audit assignments across investment activities, operational departments and corporate functions
• Support the development and implementation of annual and longer-term internal audit plans
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes and risk management frameworks
• Manage end-to-end audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, testing, documentation and reporting
• Identify control weaknesses, regulatory compliance gaps and potential operational or financial risks
• Prepare clear audit reports with findings, recommendations and corrective actions, and work with stakeholders on remediation plans
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on progress
• Support audit activities on investment portfolios and their associated entities
• Contribute to Audit Committee reporting, management presentations and internal audit performance updates
• Coordinate with internal and external audit service providers and ensure compliance with professional standards and internal policies
• Share knowledge with junior colleagues to build internal audit capability

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• 4-6 years of relevant experience in internal audit, risk management or a closely related function
• Previous experience in banking, investments or financial services is advantageous
• Professional qualifications such as CIA, CPA or ACCA are highly desirable
• UAEN candidates are preferred

Required skills

• Good understanding of internal audit methodologies, risk assessment, governance frameworks and internal controls
• Knowledge of IFRS/IAS, financial reporting principles and regulatory requirements
• Familiarity with IIA professional standards and recognised internal audit practices
• Experience preparing audit reports and engaging with senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills and ability to recommend practical improvements
